TEXT: Philippians 2:12
“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;”

It requires knowledge of God and persistent working in faith before one can experience the miraculous. Do not forget, miracle is the confirmation of God’s word in a man’s life or the response of God to a man’s prayer of faith. So, miracles do not happen by accident, miracles happen when someone is responsible for it. You do not ‘wish’ for miracles, you ‘work’ for your miracles. Some people would do nothing, just expecting miracles to happen. No, Miracles do not just happen like that, it involves taking the right steps of faith.

The woman with the issue of blood suffered a long time for her disease but when she heard about Jesus and went to meet Him, her miracle did happen. Blind Bartimeaus did not just have his miracle by accident, he took steps, cried to Jesus before his healing came. Lazarus was a friend of Jesus but when he died, he would have remained in the grave if not because
his sisters went to call Jesus. If you want to see miracles, you must take personal responsibility for it.

Our text says “Therefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;” Work it out. Do not just fold your hands and expect to receive healing, financial miracles, marital breakthroughs etc; you have roles to play. You need to cooperate with God, join your hands with the hands of God in order to experience the miraculous.

For instance, if Hannah was waiting for other people to pray for her before she could have her children, she would have waited for long but she took the responsibility of praying by herself, not ready to leave the temple until her miracle came. If Abraham had waited for anyone to encourage him to go an unknown place, he would have died in poverty, but he took up the responsibility, he departed as God commanded. This was what Jephthah said before he became victorious in Judges 12:3 “So when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hands and crossed over against the people of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me this day to fight against me?” Your miracle is here, rise up and be responsible for it.

Father, I receive the grace to rise up and take every necessary and godly steps for the manifestation of my miracles in Jesus name.

GOODNEWS DEVOTIONAL. 💣TUESDAY, 3RD OF JULY 2018 👔 THERE IS A MIRACLE IN YOUR MOUTH


TEXT: ROMANS 10:8
“But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):”

With your mouth, you can perform miracles, signs and wonders. With your mouth, you can command any problem to go and it will go and with your mouth you can command any blessing to come to you and it will come. There are miracles in your mouth. Mathew 8:16 says “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.” Jesus used His mouth to perform miracles.

This means, if Jesus could use His mouth to perform miracles, every believer can use his/her mouth to perform miracles. This is possible because the same Spirit that is in Jesus Christ is in every child of God. 1 John 4:17 says ” ..because as He is, so are we in this world” The same eternal life that is giving power to His words or utterances is the same eternal life that we receive at salvation.(John 3:16). Jesus also said ” All things are possible to those who believe “( Mark 9:23) This means, whatever is possible with Jesus is possible with us. This is the point, as powerful as the word of God in the mouth of Jesus, so also is the word of God in our mouths as believers.

Today’s text says “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):” This is awesome, it means you do not need to travel far to see your desired miracles come to pass, Just say it by faith. Announce it by faith, it says “the word is near you, the word is in your mouth”. This means the miracle you are thinking about, why don’t you say it with boldness. If you can say it with all your heart, you will see it with all your eyes.

When Elijah wanted to see fire on the prophets of Baal, it was his mouth that he used to command it. When Jesus wanted to receive money from the mouth of a fish, it was His mouth He used to command it, when Paul wanted to receive healing in his body, it was his mouth that he used. Beloved, use your mouth to declare your miracles now. Do not forget, everything has been made to obey your words. Colossians 1:15-16 says “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” Hallelujah

Father, I believe in your words, I believe my miracles are in my mouth, so by faith, through my mouth I vomit my blessings now. I command my testimonies to be now in Jesus’ name.

TEXT: ISAIAH 8:18
“Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the Lord of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.”

Miracles are real, miracles are still happening. God is still working wonders in the midst of His people. The era of miracles has not gone, the era of great wonders of God has just begun. The notorious sinners are getting saved, the sick are getting healed, the barren are becoming fruitful, the poor is getting rich, those who are lame are walking, the blind are seeing, the oppressed are being delivered, the captives are being set free and the dead are coming back to life. Broken homes are being restored, lateness in marriage are been cancelled and wayward children are coming back home. Miracles are still happening by the power of the Living God.

To think that the era of miracles has passed is to deny yourself of the wonders of God. Because before Jesus departed this world, He said in Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”. Jesus further said in John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Someone may say “I believe God but I don’t believe God is still performing miracles” you are wrong. The fact that you are not seeing or experiencing miracles does not mean it has stopped or the fact that someone whom you know to be a child God has been praying, fasting and serving God for a particular thing and is yet to experience the wonders of God does not and cannot mean that God has stopped doing wonders or that God’s other children are not experiencing miracles. Miracles are still happening, this is the reason He said in today’s text “.. I and the children whom the Lord has given me, We are for signs and wonders..”

Today, God’s people are receiving great wonders even without anyone laying hands on them. Children of God are experiencing miracles in their bedrooms, kitchens, offices, schools, inside cars even while on air. Listen, you will not just see miracles, you will also experience miracles in every area of your life in the name of Jesus. Just believe, just believe, just believe. Jesus said in John 11:40 “..Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Beloved, expect miracles to experience miracles. Hallelujah.

Father, I believe in miracles and I believe you are still working wonders. Today, I expect your miracles in my life and I receive it now in the name of Jesus.

TEXT: HEBREWS 2:4
“God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?”

Miracles are confirmation of God’s word in the lives of believers. Miracles, blessings, testimonies come as result of one’s belief in the word of God. Miracles are the responses of God to believers’ walking in His will. Miracles are harvest of the word of God you have sown. Our text says “God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?” This means , once you have walked with His word, once you have confessed His word and taken steps by His word , then the next thing that should follow is the wonders of the Lord. So, this month, expect harvest of His miracles. I mean, God will confirm His word in your life with signs following in the name of Jesus.

Miracles belong to God’s children.(Mark 7:27) If you have been walking in faith, it is normal that you prepare for your testimony, because you will soon walk into your blessings. Bible confirms that miracles follow those who believe. So, if you are a believer, expect His wonders. Mark 16:17says “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;” This means, believers in Christ do not look for miracles, blessings, healings, favours, promotions, fruitfulness etc, miracles do look for them. It’s an organised system, once you have sown the word or walked with the word, expect to reap the miracles. Your season of harvest of miracles are here in Jesus’name.

One of the the keys to the world of wonders is expectation. You must expect it for you to experience it. Your expectation which is demonstrated by your jubilation is the proof that you agree that your prayers have been answered. After Hannah had prayed in the temple for a child, bible said in 1 Samuel 1:18″..So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.” This means if your heart was broken and your face was sad while praying, then your heart must be full of joy and your face get brighter if you are ready for your miracles. Isaiah 12:3 says “Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.”

After Peter and James had prayed for the lame man at the beautiful gate, and he was helped back on his feet, Acts 3:8 says “So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.”Beloved, this is your season of harvest of miracles, do not allow anything or anyone from any where to make you sad, sing new songs from your mouth, put on a brighter face, get your dancing shoes and rejoice in the Lord your God. Psalm 118:24 says “This is the day the Lord has made;We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Come on, rejoice, shout and jubilate for this your month of CELEBRATIONS!!!! Hallelujah.

Father, thank you for bringing into this month, I will rejoice and celebrate because this is the season of my harvest of miracles in Jesus’name.

GOODNEWS DEVOTIONAL. 💣TUESDAY, 5TH OF JUNE 2018 👔 WHAT IS NOT ENOUGH WILL SOON BE MORE THAN ENOUGH


” Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”_

In 2 kings 7, when there was famine in Samaria to the extent that they were eating their children to survive, Elisha, the man of God gave a word of prophecy. Verse 1 says “Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord, Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ” This is what is called “the declaration of faith” The declaration of what you believe God can do, contrary to what the devil is doing. “By this time tomorrow, what is not enough will be more than enough ”

This is the word God gave me for o someone reading this today, what is not enough will soon be more than enough. Can you believe this? Then can you say it aloud with me. Is it money, cars, children or what have you been struggling with now? If you can believe God like the four lepers of Samaria, very soon, there will be plenty money, cars, houses, children, contracts etc for you in the name of Jesus. What is not enough has now become more than enough for you. Our text says “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”_

One of the things faith does is that it speaks. Faith does not keep quiet, faith announces what it believes. Mathew 17: 20 says “Jesus said to them, “….., if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” Faith speaks, it speaks to the mountain, it does not speak about the mountain. It speaks solution, it does not speak the problem. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,” Every faith person is a speaking person.

This tells us that anyone who wants to come out of any negative situation by faith must be ready to speak himself out of it. In the beginning when there was darkness, God spoke out light. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:6 says “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness,..” When Lazarus died, Jesus spoke life into his body, and after 4 days in the grave, Lazarus came out alive. This is the word of God of for you today, what is not enough now, will soon be more than enough for you now in the name of Jesus. Can you see what I am announcing to you today? Do you have faith? Then say it aloud over and over again.

Father, thank you. I declare that ” What is not enough has become be more than enough for me now in the name of Jesus.”

RELATIONSHIP CAN EXPIRE
Text: ECCLESIASTES 3:6: A time to get, a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away(KJV)
It is not every relationship that is designed to last forever. Some relationships come into existence for a reason, and once the reason is over we should be intelligent enough to call it quit. Some relationships come into existence for a season and once the season is over, we should let it be over. It’s a great mistake to be keeping a relationship that has served its purpose. The relationships that are designed to last are the relationships between God and man, husbands and wives, parents and children. Any other relationships can come to an end. For instance, the business relationship of Abraham and Lot come to an end, yet it did not affect their relationship as uncle and nephew. Abraham ended the business relationship, when he discovered that, his business- relationship with his nephew was over. “And Abram said unto Lot, let there be no strife I pray thee between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we be brethren” (Gen 13:8 ). The reason why many people are no longer on talking terms is because; they have over stayed in their relationships. Business – relationship, Accommodation -relationship and so many others can expire. It is when we keep managing it that we create unending crisis that can lead to many years of bitterness. Barnabas was a great instrument in the early ministry of Paul, but when it got to a point, Paul knew they could no longer do ministry together, Paul called it quit, yet they still remained brothers (Acts 5:36-42). Do not try to keep a relationship that is not giving you blessing but a burden. You must be sensitive. Today’s text says “A time to get, a time to loose, a time to keep and a time to cast away”. Do not over stress a relationship, it can wound you.

YOUR BEST FRIEND
TEXT: Proverbs 18:24: a man has friends must show himself friendly. And there is friend that sticketh closer than brother.
Who is your best friend? Your best friend is not the person you discuss serious issues together, it is not whom you dine and wine together, not the person whom you do everything in common with but your best friend is the friend that brings the best out of you. So the best spouse is the one that brings the best out of his/her spouse. Relationships matter in life and the importance we place on each must not be same. Every other friend is a good friend, but anyone who is bringing the best out of you is very special. Someone who helps you to get closer to God by helping and encouraging you to fulfill the plans of God for your life. Relationship has levels, for instance a relationship that has to do with your destiny, should go beyond social relationship. This is what today’s text is saying “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly. And there is a friend that sticketh closer than brother”. In other words, you may have many friends but there is one you must stick closer to even than your brother. The first yardstick of true friendship for any Christian is our relationship with God. Does his life challenge me to love and serve God better? Or since I have known the fellow is my hunger for the things of the spirit reduced or increased? In Christendom, you cannot just call anyone your best friend if such a person is not adding to your spiritual life. 1Cor 6:14, the bible says “be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness” If a friend makes you to sin, backslide, and discourages your faith. Then no matter how close you are, he is not your best friend but a playing friend. But if a friend challenges you to get better with God, encourages your faith and brings out the best in you, then that fellow is your best friend. This is what Jesus said when he was told that his mother and brothers were seeking for him. The bible says “:he stretched forth his hand towards his Disciples, and said behold my mother and my brother”. Which means, his mother and brothers were his friends, but his disciples were his best friends, because they helped him to fulfill his destiny.

Father, thank you for allowing me to identify my best friend, also, help me Lord to be a best friend to someone in life by helping him/her to be closer to you.

IF YOU ARE NOT A READER YOU CANNOT BE A LEADER
TEXT: 11 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Books are powerful particularly books that are written by Christians and ministers of the gospel. Books are eye openers, secrets-revealers, and contacts of divine encounters. Through anointed books, healing can take place, victory can be experienced and unction can be multiplied. Christians who read only bible and do not read other Christian literatures are missing a lot. Leaders are readers. Prophet Daniel said “I Daniel understood my books” (Daniel 9:2). So, if you see any prophet, pastors or reverend who is not reading bible and Christian books you have seen a false one. Even concerning Jesus, the bible says in the book of Luke 4:17 “and there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias”. And when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written about him. The truth is this, if you do not read the books of those who have gone ahead of you, you cannot go ahead of others. If you do not read the books that others have written, you cannot write a book that many people will read. In the bible, one of the great writers was Apostle Paul, he had a successful ministry. Paul was also a great reader. In the book of 2nd Timothy 4:13, he told his spiritual son the cloke, that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou cometh bring with thee and the books but especially the parchments”. This is why today’s text says “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. Books bring information and without information there will be deformation.
Remember, the wider you know, the faster you will go and the level of your understanding determines the level of your outstanding. One word from one book can change your life forever. Have you read any book this month?

GOODNEWS DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2017 WORD OF GOD OR MAN OF GOD WHICH COMES FIRST?

TEXT: II Chronicles 20:20b: Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established, believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper (KJV).
We are in a generation that does not know how things are done in the kingdom of God, a generation that does not want to seek the face of God and people that are not ready to know God but want to experience God. As a believer, when you face a challenge, who is the first person you run to? Is it God’s word or God’s servant? If you always run to a pastor or a prophet, you have already missed it because God and his words come before his servants. There is nothing wrong in going to meet a servant of God, but this supposed to be the second option. The first option is go to God through his word. Today text says “…… Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established, believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper”. You first point of contact ought to be the word where you can easily find God. You see, no matter how anointed your pastor or prophet may be, he/she cannot be as anointed and powerful as the word of God. The world was created by the word of God and the world is sustained by the word of God. Most times when you see people who run to men and women of God, these are the people who hardly study the word or believe in the word. Some believe more in their pastor than Jesus, what a great mistake! Some believe in the word of their pastor or prophet than the word of Jesus what a heresy. If truly you believe in the word of Jesus than the word of your pastor, you will always search the scripture, sit down with it until you locate your blessing. And if you disrespect the word of God, no matter what any servant of God says the result will be minimal. Remember, it is not the blood of your pastor or prophet that saved you, it is the blood of Jesus, and in the battle of life, the word of God carries more weight than the word of your pastor.

GOODNEWS DEVOTIONAL SIN CANNOT CANCEL THE PROMISE TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2017

WHEN YOU PREACH THE WORD, YOU SOW THE WORD; BUT WHEN YOU PRACTISE THE WORD YOU REAP THE BLESSING
TEXT: James 1:23: For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural base in a glass (KJV)

It is good to read, memorize, confess, and preach the word but without practicing the word, the word is of no benefit to you. For instance, it does not matter how many books you read on prayers, if you do not pray, the benefits of praying will never come to you. Also, if you believe and talk about praise and you do not take time out to really praise God, you will never have access to the blessings that praising God carries. Our text for today says “For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass”. Verse 22 says “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves”. It amounts to self-deception when you do not practice the word. If you believe in giving, why don’t you practice it, because until you practice it, you can never get blessed by just saying it. If you read, memorize, confess or preach the word, you are sowing the word; you must practice the word before you can reap the blessing the word carries. The bible says concern Jesus “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and teach”. Jesus practiced it before He preached it. No matter how hard anyone cries, until he/she puts into practices, what the bible teaches, he/she can never be blessed. Practice evangelism, righteousness, forgiveness and you shall experience wonders without numbers.
