Focus: The Big Deal by Psalm Eben

Portharcourt based Christian Rock Band, Crossstreet has released their debut single titled ”I Depend On You”, off their soon to be released debut album ”The Yearning”.
As people are going through various challenges in the World, it became obvious that the only one who can help us is God. And it will demand total trust in Him. “…By strength shall no man prevail”, so if we can depend on Him wholly for answers and deliverance, He will definitely show up. He always does.
Jesus wants us to rely on Him for everything. Not just the hard stuff, not just when we’re afraid, but all the time. Because if it weren’t for Jesus, we wouldn’t have the eternal hope that we have. He gave us life, so we really do rely on Him for everything!
Depend on HIM!

CrossTreet started as a band in 2014, with two singers and five musicians. It was at that time known as For-Soul. In the year 2017, CrossTreet became the new name of the group, with a total number of ten members, namely, two guitarists, Segun Akingba and Maurice Wright; a bassist, Kelechi Anele; a keyboardist, Div Kelly; a drummer, Josh John; and four singers, Siv Adoks, Eddy Abraham, Stacy Baldwin, and Destiny Abraham.
After a close look at the trending music style of our time, where everyone is sounding alike, with almost the same message, and gospel music in Africa no longer having relevance to the needs of the society, we wanted to be different because we are, and we believe in excellence.
We had to come up with our sound. We needed to take the gospel of Jesus Christ, via Music, to the lost and hopeless in the street and to the world at large, with the language they understand.
*Genre:* CrossTreet is a Rock Band currently based in Nigeria.

👔 *YOUR HOPE AND YOUR FAITH* .
TEXT: HEBREWS 11:1
” _Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen_ “_
You cannot have faith if you do not have hope. Hope is the platform on which faith stands, So every attack on your hope is an indirect attack on your faith. Faith cannot work if hope is not in place. so, to protect your faith, you must protect your hope. Our text says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This means when you are hoping for anything, then you cannot have faith for anything. For you to commence on the journey of faith, you must learn to be hopeful on every matter.
This is the truth, your faith will stop where your hope stops and your faith will increase where hope is increased. You cannot be hopeless and expect to be faith filled. God needs you to be full of hope before he can make you full of faith. Faith is the evidence of things hoped for. It means, you must hope for it before you can have faith for it. Hebrews 10:35-38 says “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
Hope is not a gift, it is a virtue that you must develop by yourself as a believer. When the enemies attacked the camp of David and took way their wives and belongings, Bible said David wept and was discouraged, but almost immediately, he called his heart back to life. David said in Psalms 42:5 “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Some erroneously say “when there is life, there is hope” but the truth is that it is when there is hope that there is life.
Hope gives you advantage over the enemy, hope gets you connected to the power of God. It gives your faith food to feed on. It does not matter the situation, just remain hopeful. Bible says in Job 14:7-9 “For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,.. Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant. David told himself in Psalm 42:5
“Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him..” Also, tell yourself that there is hope for you because you will yet praise the Lord. Hallelujah.
Confession
Father, I thank you for there is hope for me.
My testimonies are guaranteed in the name of Jesus.

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
Words are powerful, they are instruments of creation and a major pillar in the school of faith. People of faith are conscious of what comes out of their mouths. They consciously choose what they say and how they say it. They are always intentional and deliberate on the words that proceed from their mouth in every situation. Because they know that as every word counts, how the word is spoken also count. Words are the materials that we use to build our world. Our text says “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
This means, by spoken words, things that were not in existence can be brought into existence, things that are not visible can be brought into visibility, things that you desire can be brought into manifestation. This is the principle of God from the foundation of the world, this is the power God gives to His children to bring into reality what they want to see in life. Bible says “God created all things from the things that can not be seen from with naked eyes to the things that can be seen with the naked eyes. This tells every one of us that, everything we need is already available in the invisible realm, it then requires your words and my words to bring them into reality.
It means, if you can say it, you will have it. If you can declare it, you will experience it, if you can announce it, you will possess it. Romans 10:8&9 says “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Your miracle is in your mouth. Hope you heard what you just read? That miracle you are trusting is already in your mouth. Your miracles are ready, they are just waiting for your mouth to vomit them out.
There is nothing you need that is not readily available in the invisible realm and there is nothing in the invisible realm that your mouth cannot bring out. God has created it that all blessings, miracles must answer to the voice of His children. King David said in Psalms 18:44 “As soon as they hear of me they obey me; The foreigners submit to me.” Numbers 14:28 says “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:” Mathew 12:37 also says “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” You can frame your world with your words, and with your words, you can bring into reality things that need to be in existence. What do you want? Say it now as if you have it.
Confession
Father, thank you for your word today. I declare, you have supplied my needs according to your riches in Christ Jesus.

Some people seem to start their day on the “wrong foot.” They feel all right when they wake up, but as soon as something goes wrong they lose their footing and walk with a “loser’s limp” the rest of the day. Once they are off to a bad start, it seems they never catch up.
If someone offends us early in the morning, our anger can keep us defensive all day. If we start the day rushing, it seems we never slow down. But today our feet can be firmly planted in God’s Word. There will be no “bad day” when God’s Word supports, strengthens, and directs us.
Prayer Starter: Lord, I lift my day up to You and ask for Your help to get off on the right foot. Help me to go forward with a clean heart and a positive mindset focused on You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
TEXT: ROMANS 10:17
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”
The thoughts of failure and disappointments have been the major reasons many people have not been able to walk by faith. The thoughts like “what if I fail, what if it does not work out” Now, anyone that allows thoughts like these in his/her mind will never walk by faith. Thoughts like these increase your fear and decrease faith. And you know, you cannot walk by fear and walk by faith at the same time, so in order to walk by faith, you must be ready to kill your fear and for you to kill your fear, you must feed your faith. When your faith is fed, your fear will die.
This is the point that today’s text is saying “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. This means faith will keep increasing when we keep hearing and hearing the word of God. It also means fear will keep decreasing when you keep hearing and hearing the word of God. If you have been having problems taking the steps of faith, it simply means you have been feeding your fear instead of your faith. You have been listening to those who are negative.
That was the problem of the Israelites in Deuteronomy 1:28 “Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there”. The God who delivered them from Egypt had asked them to go forward to Canaan, the land that was flowing with milk and honey, but they could not because they were afraid. And this fear came as a result of what their brethren were telling them daily.
However, for their fear to die, Moses had to feed their faith. In Deuteronomy 1:29-32 Moses said “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place’. Moses also kept telling them this and their fear left. This is simple, stop listening to negative news or going to people that discourage you. Instead, keep listening to the word of God and the people who will encourage you, by that, your fear will die.
Confession
Father, as I feed my faith I see my fear die in Jesus’ name.

We will never enjoy life unless we make a quality decision to do so. Satan is an expert at stealing and our joy is one of his favorite targets. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. In John 10:10 we are told that “the thief ” comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but that Jesus came that we might have and enjoy life. Satan is the thief, and one of the things he seeks to steal is our joy. If he can steal our joy from us, we will be weak; and when we are weak, the enemy takes advantage of us.
Weak believers are no threat to him and his work of destruction. In order to live as God intends for us to live, the first thing we must do is truly believe that it is God’s will for us to experience continual joy. Then we must decide to enter into that joy.
Experiencing enjoyment in our souls is vitally important to our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Proverbs 17:22 (AMPC) says, A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. It is God’s will for us to enjoy life! Now it is time to decide to enter into the full and abundant life that God wills for us.
Deuteronomy 28:7
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
Some people think that Jesus and the devil are always confronting and fighting each other. But when I read my Bible, I don’t see fights between the two. What I see is the devil having to flee whenever he encounters Jesus!
Consider the demoniac from the country of the Gadarenes in Luke 8:26–39. The demons in the man begged Jesus not to torment them or send them into the abyss, but to permit them to enter a herd of swine nearby.
You see, neither the devil nor his demons can stand before Jesus. They may be able to torment people for a while, but when Jesus comes on the scene, they know that that is the end of their stay. They will have to flee! All it took was just one word from Jesus, and the entire legion of demons had to come out of the man and flee into the swine.
” Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”_
In 2 kings 7, when there was famine in Samaria to the extent that they were eating their children to survive, Elisha, the man of God gave a word of prophecy. Verse 1 says “Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord, Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ” This is what is called “the declaration of faith” The declaration of what you believe God can do, contrary to what the devil is doing. “By this time tomorrow, what is not enough will be more than enough ”
This is the word God gave me for o someone reading this today, what is not enough will soon be more than enough. Can you believe this? Then can you say it aloud with me. Is it money, cars, children or what have you been struggling with now? If you can believe God like the four lepers of Samaria, very soon, there will be plenty money, cars, houses, children, contracts etc for you in the name of Jesus. What is not enough has now become more than enough for you. Our text says “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”_
One of the things faith does is that it speaks. Faith does not keep quiet, faith announces what it believes. Mathew 17: 20 says “Jesus said to them, “….., if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” Faith speaks, it speaks to the mountain, it does not speak about the mountain. It speaks solution, it does not speak the problem. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,” Every faith person is a speaking person.
This tells us that anyone who wants to come out of any negative situation by faith must be ready to speak himself out of it. In the beginning when there was darkness, God spoke out light. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:6 says “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness,..” When Lazarus died, Jesus spoke life into his body, and after 4 days in the grave, Lazarus came out alive. This is the word of God of for you today, what is not enough now, will soon be more than enough for you now in the name of Jesus. Can you see what I am announcing to you today? Do you have faith? Then say it aloud over and over again.
Confession
Father, thank you. I declare that ” What is not enough has become be more than enough for me now in the name of Jesus.”

If you are in pain of any kind, Jesus knows how you feel! Always remember that all healing comes from Jesus. He is our compassionate Healer. He may work through some type of medical care, but He and He alone is the Source of healing!
Even though we seek professional help when we are sick or in pain, we should keep our eyes on Jesus to make us whole, and when we are well again, be sure to give Him the praise. Thank God in the midst of trouble, and trust and thank Him that His healing power is working in you. God’s Word says to thank Him at all times, in all things (see 1 Thessalonians 5:18). You may not be thankful for your pain and discomfort, but you can be thankful that God is with you and that He will cause all things to work together for your good as you continue loving Him and doing His will (see Romans 8:28).
When you are sick, it is an especially good time to pray for others you may know who are sick. During our own pain, we tend to have greater compassion for others who are also hurting. Prayer is sowing seed into the lives of others, and seed always produces a harvest. So, keep on trusting God and expect to get better and better every day!
Prayer Starter: Father, I ask You to heal me from all sickness, pain, and disease. I trust You to be my healer and I give You praise for my restoration. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
