” Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits .”

Every person’s faith is based on his/her relationship with God. The closer you are to God ,the closer your faith in Him increases. It is not easy to have faith in God you do not know. What determines how much you trust God is how deeply you relate and walk with Him. Jesus was able to trust the Father because He knew His father. Based on His relationship with the Father, He knew that the Father would never leave Him nor forsake Him. Even in His darkest moment, when it seemed everything was working against Him, Jesus said in John 16:32 “… And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.”

Also, when Jesus was to raise up Lazarus, a man that had died 4 days earlier, what helped Jesus’faith was His relationship with the Father. He said when He got to the tomb of Lazarus in the presence of many people “And I know that You always hear Me, ..(John 11:42) You can see that His level of confidence in God was as a result of His relationship with God. When you see a man or a woman that walks in faith, you have seen a person that really knows and trusts God. This is the reason our text says “..but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” This means, when your faith is not working it means your knowledge of God is nothing, when your faith is small it means your knowledge of God is small. So, to increase your faith, you have got to increase your knowledge of God through studying and studying of the bible.

On a particular day I was travelling with my son in car. When we got to a petrol/gas station we decided to fill the fuel tank of the car. The petrol station had a shopping mall, so my son took my permission to alight from the car so that he could buy few things. After we had bought the fuel, while we were waiting for my son to come out of the mall, I saw someone to attend to at a short distance from where we were staying, so I asked my brother that drove us to move fast to catch up with the person. So, we hurriedly left the gas station without waiting to carry my son. So, after we came back to pick him, I discovered he was never troubled, he was just eating the snacks and drinks he bought from the mall.

So, I asked him ” Peter , you were never afraid that we could leave you behind?” He replied ” How could I have been afraid since my dad is in the car. I know you would always find your ways to pick me up.” That was mind blowing. His confidence was in his relationship with me. He knew I am his father and that I would never let him down. Beloved, I like you to know that God is your own father and your Father is in the ‘car’ He would never leave you and even if the ‘car’ has gone He would always ask the car to come and pick you. He would not let you down. Be bold, pray bold prayers, take bold steps, trust Him and He would do you good. Hallelujah .

Confession
Father, I want to thank you because I know you are my Father. I know you love me, care for me and You would never let me down. I believe you would do to me as you have promised me in the name of Jesus.
