_“Can a woman forget her nursing child,And not have compassion on the son of her womb?Surely they may forget,Yet I will not forget you.”_
One of the thoughts that weakens the faith of God’s children is to think that God has forgotten them. Firstly, God is not man so He does not forget things nor people. God says in Isaiah 49:15-16 ““Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” This means God is always thinking about you. That’s why He said ” My thoughts for you is thought of peace “(Jeremiah 29:11). So, be excited, God cannot forget you except He can forget that Jesus said His blood blood on the cross of Calvary.
There was time Abraham thought God had forgotten him. The man had been trying to walk with God in his own little way. When God said ” Leave your father’s house” Abraham left immediately (Genesis 12), When he was inspired to separate from Lot, he complied ( Genesis 13) When he went to battle and came back with a lot of goods, bible said “He gave the tithes of all” (Genesis 14). With all these, it all seemed that God could not remember to give him a child again, so in Genesis 15: 2-3 Abraham told God “But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”
This is how it looks sometimes when we are walking in faith as God’s children. The devil would project it to you that God has forgotten you and forgotten what He promised you. But God let Abraham know that He did not forget him. God simply told him in verse 5 “Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” This means, God helped him to reactivate his faith because the thought of ” God has forgotten me” would kill his faith and make him to lose the promise.
This is the truth you must hold unto: God will never forget you and He can never forget you. He can never forget what He promises you. Everyone promise He makes, He brings to pass. All you need to do is to reactivate your faith and confidence in Him. The relationship between God and His children is very deep. It is a covenant relationship, it is a relationship of Father and His beloved children. It is not a casual relationship. Bible said if He could give you Jesus, how shall He not freely give you all things you ask of Him.(Romans 8:32). The devil is the one making you to think that God has abandoned you or forgotten you. You have to tell that devil ” Satan get lost, my Father can not forget me”
Confession
Father, I want to thank you because Iam always on your mind. You can not forget me and forget your promise for me. You are still working out things in my favour in the name of Jesus.
