IBITAYO JEJE, accompanied by her full 20-Man Piece Band, will make it an evening of amazing live musical experience for the expected one thousand (1,000) High Networth Individuals (HNI’s) and lovers of Highlife Music. Her music touches on people, life, culture, life style, fashion, music, and our society.
Highlife Renaissance is about to drop a history in Nigeria, with one gathering of our Highlife Legends ( ONYEKA ONWENU, VICTOR OLAIYA & EBENEZER OBEY) to feature with IBITAYO JEJE, along with some of her other friends – Tosin Martins, Wole Oni, Tolu Obey, Jesse King (Bugga), & Funke Akinokun to perform live at this event.
Brief History
Highlife historically as being in exitence since the 20th century, with a combination of Jazz and the traditional African feels. Highlife music was originated from Ghana which was later spread to western Nigeria,and flourished in both countries in the 1950s.
The earliest form of highlife was performed primarily by brass bands along the Ghanaian coast, that makes highlife of great importance among the west African coast nations.
