RELATIONSHIP CAN EXPIRE
Text: ECCLESIASTES 3:6: A time to get, a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away(KJV)
It is not every relationship that is designed to last forever. Some relationships come into existence for a reason, and once the reason is over we should be intelligent enough to call it quit. Some relationships come into existence for a season and once the season is over, we should let it be over. It’s a great mistake to be keeping a relationship that has served its purpose. The relationships that are designed to last are the relationships between God and man, husbands and wives, parents and children. Any other relationships can come to an end. For instance, the business relationship of Abraham and Lot come to an end, yet it did not affect their relationship as uncle and nephew. Abraham ended the business relationship, when he discovered that, his business- relationship with his nephew was over. “And Abram said unto Lot, let there be no strife I pray thee between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we be brethren” (Gen 13:8 ). The reason why many people are no longer on talking terms is because; they have over stayed in their relationships. Business – relationship, Accommodation -relationship and so many others can expire. It is when we keep managing it that we create unending crisis that can lead to many years of bitterness. Barnabas was a great instrument in the early ministry of Paul, but when it got to a point, Paul knew they could no longer do ministry together, Paul called it quit, yet they still remained brothers (Acts 5:36-42). Do not try to keep a relationship that is not giving you blessing but a burden. You must be sensitive. Today’s text says “A time to get, a time to loose, a time to keep and a time to cast away”. Do not over stress a relationship, it can wound you.

Father, I receive grace to be sensitive enough to know when and how to come out of relationships that are no longer serving their purposes in my life in Jesus name
